Low Tech
A friend of mine in a recent musing on photograpy (reinoart.blogspot.com) began a discussion about the intimidating need for expensive technology in this field .... The topic hit home for me. At this moment, my 'good' camera is no more and I can only choose between low tech options or not working at all. Of course, by low tech I mean to use a technology that didn't even exist 10 years ago: a point and shoot digital camera that has difficulty with shallow depth of feild and essentially no macro capabilities (though this second technique may just require that I read the manual,) and my phone (!) The photos in the previous post were all double exposures take with my phone and though they cannot individually be printed any larger than 6" x 6", I feel that their value is more in their numbers rather than their size. The photo above is from my (actually new) point and shoot camera ... I don't love it, but perhaps it is time for me to look differently ... at a bigger picture.
